Lab Overview
Biochemical Engineering Laboratory in Ewha Womans University conducts researches in various fields, such as systems biotechnology, metabolic engineering, protein engineering, microbial fermentation technologies and expand to purification of
target products produced by fermentation.
Researches in our laboratory have mainly focused on the development of metabolic engineering strategies for the production of chemicals, fuels, polymers from biomass-derived renewable resources. In our laboratory, there are diverse research
techniques related to development of recombinant microorganisms for producing various valuable materials including polymers. Furthermore, we are also interested in improvement of genetic tools for metabolic engineering as well as production. In
particular, our laboratory has a wide range of experiences along with our excellent know-how on the development and improvement of microbial strains such as Escherichia coil, Corynebacterium glutamicum, Ralstonia eutropha, and so on.
